Looking to lose weight? Then you should try the all new Gummy Bear Diet. While on this diet you are allowed to eat up to 207 gummi bears a day, and I guess lots of water to wash down all the sugar and chemicals you’ll be ingesting. Guaranteed that in time the pounds will come off.
Does this sound ridiculous to you? Well it does to me to, but this is exactly what most of the diets (mostly known as Fad Diets) out there are saying to people. All that most of us see is the results that can occur if we pay X number of dollars for their products etc. then we will lose the weight.
A Fad diet is a diet that promises quick weight loss through what is usually an unhealthy and unbalanced diet, claiming to make you lose fat, however, in reality you are usually just losing water weight. These diets are aimed mainly at people who want to lose weight quickly without exercise. Most people don’t realize the lack of nutritional value that you get on one of these diets, which can lead to a host of health risks. In addition the food restrictions can be hard to live with which usually set you up for failure time and again.
Almost 95% of diets fail, and more than 80% of those that fail, gain all of the weight back and then some. Continuous dieting or yo-yo dieting can lead to severe weight gain over time and other adverse effects associated with being overweight or obese.
We did not put on the weight on our bodies in a short period of time, therefore we should not expect to take it off in a short period of time. What we need to do is to find better eating habits that enable us to eat a smaller caloric intake while not making us feel restricted, along with some moderate exercise and before long you will see the benefits of all the work you have done.
